Suvarnabhumi Airport


The Pulic Taxis are the most popular way to get into town and the most convenient in terms of door-to-door service. Most taxis are relatively new vehicles. There are also some taxi ideal for 3-4 people with lots of bags.

> 24 hours service
> Contact Taxi counter, Level 1 – Ground Level, near entrances 3, 4, 7 and 8.
> Taxi fare: metered taxi fare plus 50 Baht airport surcharge, and expressway fees.
> Public taxis serving Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport must be less than 5 years old.
> Public taxi drives must be certified by Airports of Thailand.


Suvarnabhumi Airport City Line (SA City Line) (Starting from THB 15.- THB 45.- Max.)

This line provides service between Phayathai Station to the end terminal at Suvarnabhumi Airport within 30 minutes, which stops at 6 stations along the way such as Rajprarop Station, Makkasan Station, Ramkhamhaeng Station, Hua Mark Station, Thab Chang Station, and Lad Krabang Station. It covers a distance of 28 kilometers.

SA City Line has 5 trains, each train has 3 passenger cars with the capacity of 745 passengers per train.

Ticket Distribution

Every Airport Rail Link station has been installed with at least 2 automatic token dispensers. Number of automatic token dispenser in each station depends on station’s size. Automatic token dispenser at Airport Rail Link station is designed to calculate fare of a single passenger up to 5 passengers. The computer program will automatically calculate the fare, which passengers can use 1 baht, 5 baht, and 10 baht coins, or notes to purchase the token.

This machine has an automatic changing and receipt system. Token can be easily purchase by merely selecting the destination station. The machine will calculate the fare according to the distance. City Line’s fare start from 15 baht up to 45 baht, while Express’s fare is a flat rate of 150 baht. After the passenger has paid specified amount, the machine will dispense token as a gate pass for entering the platform, and it will print out a receipt for the amount and give out the change, which passengers have an option whether to print out the receipt.

Airport Link has a prepaid pass, like other trains, when passengers touchthe pass at the reader, it will indicate the balance and details of which stationthe passenger has been travelled through, as well as number of time theprepay has been made. The minimal prepaid value is 50 baht, whichpassengers can prepay up to 1,000 baht. The machine does not have thechange system for the prepaying the prepaid pass. The system thatcoordinates with the automatic token dispenser is platform gate, which readsthe information in the token. If the information is valid, the gate will open toallow passenger to enter the platform. The gate has a capacity of 45passengers per minute. Number of gate depends on number of passengers and station’s size.

For General Bus (Terminal 1), the bus platform is located on the 1st floor of Don Mueang Airport Arrivals Terminal. Their routes are as follows:

A1: from Don Mueang Airport to BTS Mo Chit station (the bus park near Gate 6)
A2: from Don Mueang Airport to Victory Monument (the bus park near Gate 6 and 12)
A3: from Don Mueang Airport to Lumpini Park (the bus park near Gate 6), the bus ticket costs 50 baht for all routes.
A4: from Don Mueang Airport to Khao San Road (the bus park near Gate 6), the bus ticket costs 50 baht for all routes.



Public taxi stand is located for passenger service on the 1st floor of Terminal 1 Building, Gate 8

Taxi queue management system at Don Mueang Airport

Don Mueang Airport has implemented the Taxi queue management system to serve the passengers. They also arrange waiting areas for passengers to sit, moreover there are television to entertain you while waiting. The landscape has been redecorated for handicapped persons and monks, Don Mueang Airport also arranges an extra Taxi queue separately from normal queue for the handicapped persons and monks. They are taken care by special officers at Taxi stand number 6. Don Mueang Airport has also installed CCTV to show the Taxi queue on the 1st floor of Terminal 2 Building. Whenever the passengers have received their baggage, they can decide whether to queue for Taxi service or use the other public transport instead.
